This listing is for the vintage 1954 picture book Die Schone Heimat Bilder Aus Deutschland. It's complete with the dust cover and a 1957 inscription to Hans Kraus on the inside page. I believe this book belonged to him. Kraus was the famous physician, physical therapist, mountaineer and alpinist. He was a pioneer of modern rock climbing , he was also one of the fathers of sports medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation and was elected to the U.S. National Ski Hall of Fame in 1974. Kraus was born in Austria-Hungary in 1905 and passed away in 1996 in New York City. This is a piece of history that I hope will find its way into the hands of a collector who can cherish it as such.
