This vintage hardback book by Herbert Compton provides a fascinating insight into Indian life in both the city and countryside. With seventeen illustrations, this edition published by George Newnes LTD is a must-have for collectors of vintage travel guides and stories. It's undated, but I imagine it was printed around the early 1900s. The book is written in English and is a great addition to any bookshelf. The condition is fair with the normal scuffs and marks for its age. The cover has a pinkish mark on the front and a split on the edge of the spine. Inside is good with a little foxing. The page edges are dusty and need a good brush off, but other than that, it's a lovely little book.
