Description

This exquisite bronze sculpture by Fayral depicts a slender nude girl. A small bird is perched on her right palm, and she has flowers in her left hand clutched close to her breast. The statue rests atop a stone base. Including the stone base, the sculpture is about 12 inches tall. The stone base is a little less than 4 inches in diameter. The bronze is around 10.5 inches tall. The piece is quite heavy at 5 lbs 11 oz. The piece is rendered in Art Deco style. The name FAYRAL is etched into the bronze base just in front of the girl's feet. About the artist: Pierre Camille Marie Le Faguays (1892–1962) was a French Art Deco sculptor. He also used the pseudonyms Fayral and Guebre . Le Faguays made statuettes, lamps, and decorative objects.
