Description

Ca 1910s-20s Art Deco bronze sculpture of a nude woman wearing Egyptian Revival jewelry and headdress. She stands on a solid bronze rectangular base and has her arms fully extended, one hand holding a torch with a flame. She has been beautifully sculpted and has a dark patina with golden overtones. The base has a chocolate brown patina. Unfortunately she is not clearly marked; I do see a faint mark near her right foot. Clearly she was made by an experienced sculptor. The statue is attached to the base with small flat head screws. The overall height is 13" which include the 1/2" high base. Her arm span is 10 1/2", close to her height- she is anatomically correct. Weight is 5 lb 1.2 oz. The lamp/torch/candle holder has been soldered to her right hand. The left hand looks almost as if it once held an object, or maybe an elongated piece like a scarf extended from hand to hand. If changes were made it happened many decades ago. She is indeed beautiful and looks inspirational.
